Daniel Waswas creates works that uplifts and embraces the cultural diversity of Papua New Guinea. His vivid colour and pattern reflect the body painting traditions of the Papua New Guinea Highlands.
Biography
Born in 1973 in Papua New Guinea, Daniel has grown to become a higly celebrated Papua New Guinean aritst.
Daniel has a BA in Art & Design from Whitecliffe College of Art & Design, and an MA in Fine Arts from the University of Auckland.
In 2007 Daniel was the artist in residence at the Macmillan Brown, Centre for Pacific Studies, University of Canterbury.
