December 12, 2008 Fatu Feu'u unveils commissioned work at Waitakere Airbridge. Be transported at the Airbridge of Waitakere City. This week Pacific peoples living and working in Waitakere City have been celebrated and honoured by the unvieling of "Folau" an artwork commissioned by Waitakere Council from leading Pacific artist Fatu Feu'u an Arts Laureate of that city. This beautiful large scale sculpture in wood, copper, bronze,natural shells and lashing was installed last week on the Airbridge between Waitakere City Council Offices and the Railway Station. It is a contemporary interpretation of the voyaging of Pacific people's past and present around the Pacific. Do go have a look if you can. Its awesome.
